Like every Volumio product, Rivo is designed and assembled in Florence.

Made in Florence

Assembled by hand, in Italy

Rivo is designed in Florence and assembled there by hand, by the team that also writes its software. Each unit is checked before it leaves the lab.

Look inside

A clean path to your DAC

Rivo means stream in Italian. It streams music to your DAC, or to an amplifier with a DAC built in, and does nothing else. The architecture is simple, to keep the digital signal path as clean as possible.

Three Rivo units stacked, with light blue fronts and orange buttons. The top one is open and shows its blue main board, printed with the Volumio Rivo name.

Isolated outputs

1:1 transformers in grain-oriented OFC copper give the S/PDIF coaxial and AES/EBU outputs galvanic isolation. The digital signal reaches your DAC without any filtering or changes.

Power for each section

Every section has its own power supply, and the internal clock has a dedicated one with its own stabilizer. Before the power reaches the circuits, a chain of inductors and electrolytic capacitors filters it. Each part stays stable on its own, which keeps noise down.

A clean USB output

The USB DAC output has power filtering and a dedicated IC for signal-integrity reconstruction, with a low-jitter clock. It plays up to PCM 1536 kHz / 32-bit and DSD1024, with multiroom off.

Finishes

Classic or Black Edition

Rivo comes in two finishes with the same performance. The new Black Edition is a limited edition, with a front panel in black upcycled leather.
